COVID-19 lockdown: KE extends due dates following Sindh CM’s request

Power utility must still carry out its business activities and make necessary fuel purchases

Newsdesk March 23, 2020
Following Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Shah’s request to K-Electric (KE) on Sunday, the power utility company has decided to extend the due dates of all monthly electricity bills below Rs4,000 till April 10.

Moreover, according to a press release, KE will ensure an uninterrupted power supply to hospitals and residential areas, as the Sindh government imposed a complete lockdown on the province.

However, the statement added, the power utility must still carry out its business activities and make necessary fuel purchases.

As a result, it appealed to both the federal and provincial governments to pay their outstanding dues, which have soared to Rs240 billion, so that it could continue providing its services.
