A solution to coronavirus would be halal eating and sanitation: Meera

The 'Baaji' star imparted some advice in the now viral video

Entertainment Desk March 22, 2020
Meera jee is the latest Pakistani celebrity to put in her two cents about the coronavirus outbreak that has seen many parts of the world implement self-isolation tactics to avoid the spread of the disease.

The Baaji actor took it upon herself to create awareness about COVID-19 via social media which has so far killed thousands of people across the world.

Firstly, Meera discussed about how the outbreak started and spread across the globe, then continued to suggest measures that could prevent contracting the deadly virus.

"Coronavirus is a virus that has become a pandemic across the world," Meera began through her video message on Twitter. "The cause of this is lack of hygiene products in vet markets across China."

According to World Health Organisation (WHO), coronaviruses are a family of viruses that cause disease in animals. Seven, including the new virus, have made the jump to humans, but most just cause cold-like symptoms.

The source of the coronavirus is believed to be a "wet market" in Wuhan which sold both dead and live animals including fish and birds.

Luckily, Meera imparted some health advice to prevent this kind of disease next time. In her video, the actor said, "A solution to this would be halal eating and sanitation that would prevent this kind of behaviour."

Meera's video has since gone viral, but many trolls are calling out the star for speaking in a 'fake accent.' Despite this, the actor is receiving praise for her 'needed' words of wisdom on coronavirus.

The actor was recently seen masked up at the airport preparing to fly to Atlanta for a health awareness program, but she also had a message for her fans about staying at home.

"Flying to Atlanta awareness health program. Please stay at home I have reason to go. I request to all of you please don’t go out, sit at home. Prevention is better than cure," she wrote.
