K-P doctors offer services in fight against COVID-19

ABBOTTABAD: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Peoples Doctors Forum (PDF) President Dr Nisar Khan on Saturday launched a public awareness campaign with announcement to join the provincial health authorities to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

Speaking to media Dr Nisar said that PDF members will distribute face masks free of cost in the hospitals and in general public with planned awareness campaign and will perform health care duties at their end in their respective capacities joining the government hospitals across the province.

Dr Khan showed concerns over the poor health care facilities at the Ayub Medcial Complex, which is the largest hospital of the Hazara division. He said no personal protection equipment has been given to doctors at AMC yet.

He said doctors at the AMC are faced with shortage of surgical masks, gloves, special gowns and hand sanitisers. The PDF president also said the hospital administration was not capable to deal with coronavirus situation.
