Financial crisis: NHA in a financial crunch

If funds were not released on time, it would turn into another loss-making entity on the lines of Pakistan Railway

ISLAMABAD: The financial position of National Highway Authority (NHA) is deteriorating rapidly, the sub-committee of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was informed on Tuesday. If funds were not released on time, it would turn into another loss-making entity on the lines of Pakistan Railway, Secretary Communication Anwar Ahmad Khan tersely told the committee. He pointed out that due to the shortage of funds, contractor of Lawari tunnel had abandoned construction work while a Chinese firm had also intimated to stop work on Karakoram highway if finances were not released.
