The actor has called out all those still holding weddings and gatherings amid the coronavirus pandemic

Actor Ahmed Ali Butt recently lashed out at those still holding high profile social events in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. In an Instagram story, the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani star went on to criticise the financially well to do for risking lives to facilitate their own luxuries.

"Stupidity has no boundaries, I see people at weddings and dinners and posting pics from get-togethers. Please wake up people. How can the social elite and educated be so dumb and stupid. I swear the only reason we are still in this world is because 'Uper walay ka karam hai' verna humney koi kasr nahi chori ( 'God's blessing, otherwise we have kept on pushing the button)," he said.

The actor had also posted a video in which he took a sarcastic jab at those not adhering to soial distancing.

With an exponential rise in cases in Pakistan, several celebrities have gone on to promote strict social distancing measures. Some have even suggested that their shoots be postponed.

Production houses should also not worry about the money right now but the health of actors. God forbid before something happens all should be safe and wait for the situation to get better,” actor Feroze Khan told The Express Tribune.

Humayun Saeed shared the same sentiment but noted that those shoots that have to go on-air soon should continue. “I think shoots should not be scheduled for at least 2 to 3 weeks.
