In a recent turn of events, popular singer Ali Zafar tweeted regarding a huge public gathering that took place in Lahore and included Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar.

He emphasised on the dire need for social isolation amid the ongoing pandemic instead of gathering for congregations. Zafar posted pictures of the event showing a large number of men who had gathered in suits while discussing how the public gatherings have not ceased in the city.

The picture also showed just a few in masks with the rest taking no precautionary measures. Zafar wrote: "Sir Usman Buzdar, with the utmost respect it is quite shocking to see this congregation in times when social isolation is an absolute must. You must lead from the front sir."

He added that the "hospitals in Punjab had no clue and we still seem to be unaware of the seriousness of what can happen."

The star went on to point out how the government of Punjab had imposed section 144 itself four days ago for a reason.

He continued to update a video advising his fans and the government about the precautionary measures that need to be taken in times like these, while adding that for starters, everyone needs to stay at home.

Zafar also urged people to stop shaking hands and not greet each other the way we are socially conditioned to, and practice social distancing instead.
