Gadani shipyard suspends activities

As a preventive measure to contain coronavirus

Activities at Gadani ship-breaking yard have been suspended on Wednesday for four weeks as a preventive measure to contain coronavirus, according to a notification issued by the Balochistan environment department.


The notification added dock operations of rowboats, including oil tankers, have been restricted for four weeks due to the prevailing situation of the virus. It further stated the ship owners needed to obtain formal permission or NOC from government for docking after the expiry of four weeks restriction.
