Vanessa Hudgens outrages Twitter over 'insensitive' coronavirus comments

'High School Musical' star said via her Instagram stories that, "People are gonna die. Sad, but like, inevitable?"

After joining her High School Musical co-star Ashley Tisdale for a quarantine singalong, Vanessa Hudgens recorded an Instagram story that's drawing the wrong kind of attention on social media.

In the clip, Hudgens claimed that the possibility of quarantining until July is "b****hit" and that the possibility of many, many deaths isn't that big of a deal, reported InStyle.

"'Til July sounds like a bunch of b****hit, I'm sorry," she said during her story. "But, like, it's a virus, I get that, I respect that. Even if everybody gets it, like, yeah, people are gonna die, which is terrible. But like, inevitable? I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't be doing this right now."

Unluckily for the former Disney star, Twitter user Ashar Ali captured the clip and posted it.

"What a horrible and heartless message for you to share with the younger people who look up to you," he wrote via his status.

Others agreed, responding to the clip with their own thoughts, which ranged from calling Hudgens 'unconscionable' and 'misguided.'

Hudgens has since removed the Instagram recording from her feed after the barrage of backlash from Twitter. She has now issued and apology for being 'insensitive,' taking to the social media platform to share her regret.

The actor assured her fans she is taking the warnings seriously and that her comments were "taken out of context." Hudgens also urged her followers to stay safe and that she now understands the weight of her words.

"Hey guys. I'm so sorry for the way I have offended anyone and everyone who has seen the clip from my Instagram live yesterday. I realise my words were insensitive and not at all appropriate for the situation our country and the world are in right now," the dark-haired beauty penned.

"This has been a huge wake up call about the significance my words have, now more than ever. I'm sending safe wishes to everyone to stay safe and healthy during this crazy time."
