AIOU offers degree programmes to overseas Pakistanis

Programme available to Pakistanis living in the middle-eastern countries including Kuwait, Qatar, UAE

ISLAMABAD: With the novel, coronavirus brings to a halt on-campus activities and even forcing some countries to enforce a wide lockdown, the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Tuesday as offered associate degree programmes at the bachelor level in four disciplines to Overseas Pakistanis.

The programme will be available to Pakistanis living in the middle-eastern countries including Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Sultanates of Oman and Bahrain.

The academic programmes to be offered include; associate degree - general group), associate degree -commerce, associate degree - mass communication and associate degree - library information sciences.

The duration of these programmes will be two years or four semesters. Eligibility for associate degree programmes is the intermediate second division.

Pakistanis settled in these countries have been asked to enrol themselves by April 15 through AIOU’s website, attach two passport size photographs without attestation, attested photocopy of passport, visa and computerised national identity card (CNIC). Admission forms and prospectus for these programmes could be downloaded from: http://del.aiou.edu.pk.

According to AIOU’s admissions director, overseas students’ educational facilities are being extended with cooperation from Pakistani missions and schools in those countries.
