MULTAN: The rise in the tally of coronavirus cases across the country demands stricter screening at entry points, especially at borders, said Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Head of Pulmonary Department Dr Naveed Jamal.

He suggested that all DHQs, Rural Health Centres and tertiary care health facilities should be involved in the screening process to check the virus. “If we detect the cases at an early stage, it will help us a lot in treating patients,” he added. “We have trained nurses and paramedics of at the hospital to fight the disease, the focal person for coronavirus at NMU stated.

As a nation, each one of us has to combat the virus, he added. “Only two suspected cases are in isolation wards of Nishtar Hospital whose reports are pending.” Meanwhile, Multan Division Commissioner Shanul Haq urged masses to take good care of their personal hygiene to prevent disease.
