The new charge against Anders Behring Breivik would mean he could serve more than the current 21 years he faces for terrorism-related charges after Friday's twin bombing and shooting, a term that many Norwegians feel is not long enough.
Prosecutor Christian Hatlo told Tuesday's Aftenposten newspaper that the new charge, which became possible after entering into law in 2008, was currently only "a possibility".
"Police have so far cited... the law on terrorism but seeking other charges has not been excluded," police spokesman Sturla Henreiksboe told AFP.
"No final decision has yet been taken," he said.

By norwegian law the maximum penalty is 21 years in jail. In addition to that, there is a kind of custody that can be appended to the sentencing to keep him from re-entering society. this custody is re-evaluated once the jail-time is served and can be extended an infinite number of times, which in practice means he will never be let out again. So after serving he's no longer to be jailed, just not allowed to leave the assigned institution either.
Only 30 years. Not good enough!
maybe with good behaviour he can be out in 15 years.
more news out....'Norway terrorist saw Hindutva movement as anti-Islam ally'
I suspect some of the liberals in Europe are now questioning the wisdom of their wimpy laws concerning terrorism and murder. Sentencing a young man to 30 years in prison pretty much insures that he will be walking out the prison some day. The American had it right when they caught the terrorist Timothy McVeigh - he was tried, convicted, and then executed.
why not national and international media called him extremist? is it necessary for an extremist to be a muslim first. Also he killed nearly 100 people and got 30 Years, while a muslim lady got 86 years on just a blame of murder attempt. does that make sense?
whay is this guy not a terrorist? any muslim would have been a terrorist right from the start. Even most of the renouned media associated this incident with muslim terrorist at the start of the incident ... and now when this guy is not a muslim he is not to be called a terrorist .. instead Killer, mad man, and many other names.
