CDA suspends official selling fake plots

Anti-encroachment operation conducted in Blue Area

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has suspended services of an official working in Planning Wing of authority on fraud and other charges.

Human Resources Development Directorate of the authority has formally issued suspension orders of the Riaz Abdi.

According to a CDA statement, Abdi allegedly sold bogus plots in Kuri Model Village and received rs5 million from a citizen, however, despite receiving amount he failed to transfer plots in the name of the citizen. The citizen lodged his complaint on Pakistan Citizen Portal against the above said employee.

Taking action on the complaint CDA management directed the Security Directorate to probe the matter. An inquiry proved that the official sold six plots to citizens, out of which five were bogus. Moreover, during inquiry it was also established that the said amount was received by the official.

In the light of the report submitted by Security Directorate, CDA Management has suspended the services of Riaz Abadi and formal inquiry in this regard has also been directed.

Encroachment removed

CDA conducted an operation against encroachments and illegal constructions in Blue Area on Friday.

In this connection, Enforcement Directorate during a joint operation participated by Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), Islamabad Police, of Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) Directorate of Municipal Administration and Sanitation Directorate demolished several illegal constructions and encroachment in Blue Area established on the space between the plazas of the commercial hub.

Machinery of IMC was used to remove debris from the site. During another operation conducted in sector I-9 Industrial Area, staff of enforcement directorate demolished six rooms and two halls constructed on state land and retrieved the possession from illegal occupants.
