Warehouse sealed for allegedly hoarding sugar

Ombudsperson says repeated Facebook friend requests also a violation

ATTOCK: The Hazro Teshil Administration in Attock on Friday cracked down on hoarders of essential food items.

They sealed a warehouse after recovering illegally stored sugar worth millions.

Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Attock Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamer formed a special team, headed by Assistant Commissioner Hazro Teshil Maleeha Lesar.

They sealed the private warehouse for hoarding as many as 320 bags of sugar.

The owner of the warehouse was fined for the illegal stock while the sugar was confiscated by the district administration.

The contraband will be later sold at government notified rates.

Assistant Commissioner Lesar said that no one will be allowed to hoard essential food items such as sugar, rice, ghee and so on.
