Kalma Chowk Flyover: On song for August 14
Most of the structural work at one flyover was complete and only two per cent of the work remained on the other.
LAHORE:
Project Director Sabir Khan seems confident about meeting the Independence Day deadline for completion of the Kalma Chowk Flyover. Most of the structural work at one flyover was complete and only two per cent of the work remained on the other. “Our progress has proven our critics wrong,” Khan told The Express Tribune. Earlier, it was suggested that one of the flyovers may be completed and opened for traffic by July 25. Khan said it was impossible to finish the job any earlier. “There is no pressure from the chief minister to get it done before that. We are working with August 14 on our minds,” he said. He said his workers were now fixing the borders and preparing the approach roads. Carpeting and installation of electricity polls will follow.
