Tennis: Sumar, Das off to a flying start

The 15th Bath Island Ranking Tennis Championship’s opening day saw Saad Noor Sumar blank out Owais Ahmed 6-0, 6-0 in the first-round of the men’s singles event. Robin Das achieved an equally comprehensive victory over Muneeb Ahmed with an identical scoreline. Meanwhile, Murtazain Shoaib had to overcome a tough challenge from Gul Hameed, beating him 4-6, 6-4, 10-5. The under-15 event witnessed Asad Khan triumphing over Hania Naveed 6-0, 6-1. Adnan Khan defeated Hamza Qureshi 6-4, 6-3. Fahad Khan, Usman Arshad, Dawar Rehman, Shahzaib Nasir and Hasnain Haider won their respective matches in the under-17 event.
