Summer vacations from May 15 to July 14 in Sindh
Schools across Sindh will be reopened on March 13
KARACHI:
The Sindh government has announced the schedule of new academic session and summer vacations for all private and public schools across the province.
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Saturday chaired a steering committee meeting.
The meeting decided that the new academic year for 2020-2021 will commence from April 15 and the summer vacations for the current year will begin from May 15 and last till July 14. Ghani stressed that the schedule for the summer holidays would not be changed on pretext of the holy month of Ramazan.
Amid speculations about a possible extension in the closure of schools, which have been shut until March 13 to contain the spread of coronavirus, Ghani stressed that schools will be reopened on the mentioned date.
He directed the administration and staff of all schools to resume their duties from March 9 and ensure the timely distribution of admit cards among students of grade 9 and 10.
However, academic activities to resume from March 13, the minister clarified, while the matric examinations for class 9 and 10 will begin from March 16.
