The Sindh government has announced the schedule of new academic session and summer vacations for all private and public schools across the province.

Provincial Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Saturday chaired a meeting of steering committee, which was attended by all concerned departments and officials, according to a statement issued by the government’s spokesperson.

The meeting decided that the new academic year, 2020-2021 will commence from April 15 and the summer vacations will begin from May 15 and last till July 14.

During the meeting, the education minister stressed that the schedule for summer holidays will not be changed on pretext of the holy month of Ramazan.


Ghani underlines need to keep schools closed amid epidemic scare

Amid speculations about the possible extension in the closure of schools, which have been shut until March 13 to contain spread of novel coronavirus, Ghani stressed that schools will be reopened on the mentioned date.

He directed the administration and staff of all schools to resume their duties from March 9 and ensure timely distribution of admit cards among students of grade 9 and 10.

However, academic activities to resume from March 13, the minister clarified.

Examination of class 9 and 10 will begin from March 16, he maintained.
