Alphabet Inc’s Google on Thursday joined Amazon.com Inc, Facebook Inc and Microsoft Corp in recommending employees in the Seattle area to work from home after many were infected with the coronavirus in the region.

Big tech companies have also withdrawn from several conferences and called off corporate events as the virus spreads.

LinkedIn, an online employment-oriented service has just informed job candidates that they have the option to conduct their interviews online or postpone them until it is safe to do so amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Applicants were informed via email from LinkedIn’s staffing team.

“In light of the recent coronavirus outbreak and with everyone’s health being LinkedIn’s #1 priority at the moment, all candidates who are scheduled to come onsite are being given the option to either complete their entire interview virtually via BlueJeans video conference or cancel their current schedule and hold off on rescheduling until coming on site is possible,” says LinkedIn in an email reported by The Verge.
