‘Most coronavirus patients survive’
Dr Rehman says symptoms include fever, cough, respiratory distress
Out of every 100 novel coronavirus patients, more than 97 patients survive and recover as its fatality rate is 3.4%, said Focal Person for National Action Programme for Coronavirus Dr Sajjadur Rehman. He addressed the students at Iqbal Auditorium on Wednesday.
He said that signs and symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty in breathing, respiratory distress and others.
He further said that one can take steps to reduce the risk of infection including wash your hands often with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. “Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth if your hands are not clean.” Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick, he added. “Avoid sharing dishes, glasses, bedding and other household items if you are sick. Clean and disinfect surfaces you often touch.”
