KARACHI: The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) held a free medical camp for the fishing communities at Baba Island on July 24. This was the third free medical camp this year. Baba Island is one of the two islands of fishing communities that are situated in the Karachi Harbour near Manora. Doctors from PMSA and specialists from the civil sector, including four lady doctors, addressed the needs of the patients. A total of 800 patients were examined and given free medicine. The director general of PMSA, Rear Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, visited the medical camp and met the fishermen from both islands. The fishermen community was assured of PMSA’s commitment to safeguard their interests. Abbasi reiterated PMSA’s stance to support welfare projects, such as their free medical and eye camps and the adoption of schools at Baba Island.
