MUZAFFARGARH: A woman and her 40-day-old baby were reportedly buried alive in a case of honour killing. Police arrested the accused and five of his accomplices involved in this heinous crime while three suspects are still on the run.

Police took action on the complaint of the victim’s mother-in-law. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had killed both the mother and her child and buried them in the fields.

Details obtained by The Express Tribune revealed that around two years ago Aiman Bibi, a resident of Baqar Shah Shamali, eloped with Mukhtiyar Hussain, a resident of the area of Kot Addu police station, to tie the knot with him. The mother-in-law of the victim, Sughra Bibi, registered a case of abduction of her daughter-in-law and grandson in Kot Addu police station.

Police raided a house in Baqar Shah Shamali and arrested the victim’s father. Upon identification of the suspects, police exhumed the bodies of the women and her baby.
