Around 49 per cent of the people in Pakistan don’t know where their next meal is coming from said a World Food Program survey on Wednesday.

An under preparation survey by World Food Program, points out That 80 out of 131 districts are haunted by food-insecurity while the number of extreme food-insecure districts have jumped up to 45 from 38 in 2003.

The number of food secure districts has also fallen. It was 34 in 2003 and now it stands at 20. Even the better off districts are losing their pace of development.

The new additions to the list, hosting the most number of hungry people, include Malakand, Mirpur Khas, Muzaffarabad and Kotli in Azad Kashmir.
