Actor-cum-producer, Armughan Shahid, popularly known as Shaan Shahid, recently spoke up in support for the Women's Cricket team of Pakistan after their win against West Indies by eight wickets.

Shaan wrote, "Women in green, so proud of you for bringing us pride honour and joy . Keep shining."

After the pat on their backs he addressed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), "PCB must support the women’s cricket in Pakistan. A new tournament should be introduced for women titled Women's Domestic Cricket, along with a Fatima Jinnah cup which should be equivalent to a Quaid e Azam trophy," opined the star.

Several Twitter users joined in his cause, admitting that the women's team needs to be appreciated more and given the same amount of recognition as the men's team.

One user lauded the tournament title he suggested.

Shaan also lauded a few team member in separate posts for 'fighting like a lioness.'
