KARACHI: The first case of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) has been reported in Karachi. The 22-year-old male patient has a history of travelling to Iran where it is said that he acquired the virus. He travelled from Iran to Karachi where he was screened and tested positive. We should now be aware and cautious of this dangerous disease otherwise the number of people infected will increase at an alarming rate in the near future. Take care of your health and protect others by doing the following: wash your hands frequently, maintain at least a 3 feet of distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing, when you are going outside avoid touching nose, eyes and mouth, Make sure you, and the people around and follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or using a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Anything contaminated should be immediately thrown away in a contained manner. Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, seek medical attention and consult doctors. Follow the advice given by your healthcare provider. God will protect us from this vicious disease.
