Defending champions WAPDA continue dismal run, slide to sixth place.

KRL, KESC register convincing wins

KARACHI:


KRL crushed KPT 4-0 in a Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match while KESC stunned defending champions Wapda 2-1.


Samar Ishaq scored the opening goal in the 29th minute as KRL led 1-0 at the interval. Mehmood Khan doubled the lead in the 64th minute before Saadullah scored in the 72nd and 76th minutes of the match. KRL are leading the PPFL points table with 22.

Meanwhile, four-time PPFL champions Wapda continued to struggle as they lost their third match of the tournament and slipped to sixth place. KESC’s Mohammad Rasool scored in the 44th minute  as the home team led 1-0 at half-time.

Wapda’s Mohammad Afzal equalised in the 66th minute but Rasool struck his second goal just four minutes later to seal the victory for KESC.

In the last match of the day, Pakistan Army defeated Pel 2-0 in Quetta with Ansar Abbas scoring in the 29th minute while Ikram doubled the lead in 79th minute of the match.
