The Pakistani High Commissioner to India has invited prominent leaders of occupied Kashmir to New Delhi during the Pakistan Delegation's visit.
APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani and pro-liberation leaders will meet Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar too.
Amongst other prominent Kashmiri leaders, Abdul Ghani Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Bilal Ghani Lone, Agha Syed Hassan, Mukhtar Waza and Ayaz Akbar will also meet the Pakistani Foreign Minister.
The meeting with Kashmiri leaders, a day earlier, is being seen as a move to take the Kashmiri leadership onboard regarding the talks and the likely confidence building measures involving the LoC.
Rabbani is scheduled to hold talks with her Indian counterpart S. M. Krishna on July 27.

@R S JOHAR: Well I agree with you, however i think that India is really dealing with the Puppets here! rather than than the Puppeteers in Pindi, as they really are the decision makers in regards to their policies. On the note of India's Stature, well its not likely to be questioned, however i am disappointed at the reluctance of the Major Donar Nations to demand that Pakistan act shiftly in regards to the culprits involved in 26/11 Mumbai incident !!! Can you for a second, imagine this happening in New York, and US awaitng Pakistan's reply at their leisure??? Your guess is as good as mine, as to what the outcome of that scenario would have been !!! That's when I feel that India needs to up the ante on this issue as they have treated like Idiots so far, in regards to their requests for positive response from Pakistan !!!
@R S JOHAR: How can it be reciprocated, and who exactly does India really need to meet in Pakistan??? Yes perhaps, one Dawood Ibrahim & Co, however they have denied his presence, in their Country, just as they had denied presence of OBL too !!! Complete waste of time, to expect any actions or sincerity from these lot!!!! Consider the other option as to what the Kashmiri separatists may have to say to Pak delegation, that they actually want complete Independance from both countries and definately would not entertain the Idea of joining Pakistan at any cost due to on going crises and economic conditions within the country !!! Wonder how that message may be conveyed back to Islamabad and Rawalpindi!!!!!
The Pak FM received a warm welcome on reaching New Delhi. However, the Govt of India has already come under lot of criticism for allowing the Kashmir separatists to meet the Pak FM before even meeting her counterpart in India. Hope this large-heartedness of Indian political think-tank is duly reciprocated by Pakistan.
@uk muslim: Be careful, as they will accuse you of being convert, just having UK next to your name, my friend. Even thou you have made a very valid remark, and that's why you are in UK, unlike rest of these lot, who have grown up with very selective vision and hearing too!!!
Pakistan's newly appointed Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar will be visiting New Delhi for the bilateral talk on 27 July 2011. Proposal on the table include the launch of the Kargil-Skardu bus link , an increase in the frequency of Kashmir bus link between Sri Nagar & Muzaffarabad an increase in the number of trading days from two to four across the LINE OF CONTROL that divides Kashmir into two parts . This time , both are under pressure . They must need to find a proper solution in order to achieve sustainable peace & stability in the region . Two nations are in deep crisis like always where everything is just politics . Here , the crucial question is : "How does a young civilian leader Hina Rabbani Khar help positive developments in Pakistan's relationship with India ? " An action against peace with US support . Let's see , who will dominate whom and who will influence whom ?
Why a Pakistani Newspaper is writing the heading
"Indian Kashmiri Leadership".
Do these newspapers contradict the Ideology of Pakistan & Pending UN Resolutions?
She isn't meeting Indian Kashmiri leadership! She is just meeting the Kashmiri 'separatist' leadership. Indian Kashmir has more popular representative than Hurriyat, who are driven purely by Religion, rather than true intent of Kashmir's progress.
welcome.......you take anyone on the board..... we know what will be the output ???what will happenpresence of separatist lead if Indian leaders refuse to talk in the ers ??India doesn't consider them as obstacles,so allowed them to come to Delhi...
Now that this ritual is over and done with, its time for her to get to serious business.
@ik: You are once again doing what almost every Pakistani citizen or politician does and that is mask and/or refuse admit their mistakes by saying that it is the fault of others. Grow up and talk to your dissidents and not blame others. Next you would say that the violence in Karachi is caused by outside influence.
Haven't we been meeting them for over six decades, what did we achieve! Half Pakistan, poverty, un-employment and shortage of everything except deceit and corruption. Madam FM, if we do not deceive ourselves there is no Kashmir problem as Kashmiris can become independent just as East Pakistanis became Bangladeshis. Solve the internal problems and enforce constitution on military and you get my guarantee that Kashmir problem will be solved by itself. Our best policy can be getting rid of fanaticism as foreign policy and taming the military to obey the constitution.
I have a question for Ms Khar,
Who do you think is best qualified to become the first prime minister of Balochistan?
so openness from india... its amazing. guys we should learn something from india. being a democratic country they are not objecting for having talks or dialogue in civillised manner.
there is no proof of india's hand in balochistan, even uk foreign secretary also agreed on it.
How many of such meetings we have had in the past and what good has ever come out of them? These are no more than the delaying tactics on our part to solve the core problem that has bankrupted us both physically and morally. Please do not delude yourself, we are not in a position to dictate terms to India actually we never were as our past adventures across the LOC vouch for it, so please do not try to pull another fast one on us a great majority of my generation is tired and fed up with your shortsighted approach. I have said it many times in the past if we ever sincerely wish to come out of this rut that has lead us nowhere but more misery for my people then the only solution to this problem lies in converting the LOC into an International Border with some adjustments and full freedom for Kashmiris to travel across it. To do the above requires moral courage, sincerity and vision unfortunately our leadership does not seem to possess it.
@Mirza, Sir very well said, I absolutely agree with your perspective and approach, always enjoy reading your comments.
Yes! perhaps its a move for them to tell Pak, that, they are interested in their independance, however nothing to do with Pak !!! Ever thought about that equation !!! Pak really has nothing to offer to them, looking at their present situation, in every sphere, may that be political or economic !! Period !
Still pursing the same old policies of ISI and army generals. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Unless Pakistan has a clean break from the old India centric policies that have kept us in the doghouse for so long, nothing is going to change. Change of faces is meaningless unless there is a real policy change.
@ Babloo Baluchistan is not disputed area between India and Pakistan. Kashmir is disputed area and still waiting for resolution according to UN.
I thought this young and highly educated Lady is mature enough to deal with Indo-Pak issue and will bring positive dimensions to the relationship.....unfortunately, she is hopeless......her meeting with the separatist leaders will not bring anything useful for Kashmir but will sabotage this talk.......
Can Indian foreign minister meet Baluch leadership when he visits Pakistan ?
I am wondering that a person who could perhaps be a First Secretary in the Foreign Office be made the Foreign Minister. Such is the seriousness of our rulers...
Somebody will never learn from their mistakes, keep harping.
