This was decided during a seminar on cyber financial crimes in the federal capital. Organised by the cybercrime wing (CCW) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday, it was the first national seminar on the topic, dealing with crimes such as fraud and other cyber financial crimes.
CCW ADG Dr Ehsan Sadiq said that the objective of the seminar was to share knowledge and experience about the cyber financial crimes by reviewing case studies.
He added that the seminar aims to discuss control mechanisms, as well as issues in investigating such crimes.
FIA CCW Director Waqar Chauhan elaborated on the types, methodology, and the magnitude of cyber financial crimes which have occurred in the past two years.
AGD Sadiq hoped that the initiative will be the first of its kind and that it will be followed by meetings with stakeholders regularly so that effective measures can be taken against cyber financial crimes. Professionals from the corporate sector including telcos, microfinance banks, as well as representatives from scheduled banks participated in the seminar.
