Honor’s first 5G phone to launch globally without Google apps

Honor View 30 Pro will be releasing worldwide without Google apps, services

Honor, the smartphone company owned by Huawei announced in a live stream that its first 5G phone, the Honor View 30 Pro, will be releasing globally.

The device will be powered by a Kirin 990 5G chipset, along with a 6.7-inch 1080p display with a hole-punch selfie camera and equipped with a 4,100mAh battery pack.

Priced at €249 the device will be launched in selective European markets in March.

However, the 9X Pro and View 30 Pro will be Honor’s first phones to release outside China without Google apps and services after the US banned American companies from working with parent company Huawei due to national security concerns.

Besides the 5G connectivity feature, Honor has highlighted the camera capabilities of the View 30 Pro which is equipped with a triple-lens camera consisting of a 40-megapixel f/1.6 camera, a 12-megapixel f/2.2 camera for wide-angle video, an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto camera, as well as laser autofocus.

New Huawei handset to launch without Google apps

There is no denying that the device not being equipped with Google apps is a major setback, however, if we look past this then the 9X Pro has got a more powerful Kirin 810 processor and 256GB of onboard storage.
