COAS discusses defence, security cooperation with Moroccan leadership

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa discussed matters of mutual interest with the Moroccan leadership during his four-day official visit to the country, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

The army chief called on Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in Charge of the Administration of National Defence Abdellatif Loudiyi and Inspector General of Royal Armed Forces Abdelfattah Lourak.

The COAS discussed bilateral defence, security cooperation and regional peace and stability with the Moroccan leaders. “They agreed upon the tremendous potential for cooperation in multiple fields including security cooperation, joint training & counter terrorism domain,” said the ISPR.

The army’s information wing quoted General Bajwa as saying that “Pakistan has and will always stand with Morocco even in most difficult times”.

He also visited the Royal College of Higher Military Education and shared his views of “Emerging Security Environment and its Challenges, Security situation in the region and Pakistan’s contributions in war against terrorism”.

General Qamar said that being the frontline country against terrorism Pakistan had sacrificed and contributed against the global menace for a peaceful region and world.
