Lawyers express concerns over case investigation

Bhatti said the family of the deceased met them, complained about the non-cooperation of police officials

LAHORE: Punjab Bar Council made has said it would lodge a strong protest if the police dealt with Shahbaz Tatla case merely to protect the skin of their colleagues.

“Police had sought two days from them ensuring the arrests of main accused and other co-accused persons will be ensured in former assistant advocate general Tatla murder case,” said Jameel Ashgar Bhatti Punjab Bar Council Executive Committee Chairman.

“It is very clear that if police tried to protect the skin of their colleague then the lawyers’ community will come forward to protect their deceased colleague”, Bhatti warned.

In a joint press conference with Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA)’s secretary Shamimur Rehman Malik in Punjab Bar Council, Bhatti said the family of Tatla met them and complained the non-cooperation of police officials in Tatla case.
