The hospital's dialysis centre has a severe medicine shortage. The hospital administration officials said the dialysis centre at the THQ hospital has 26 beds and there were 1,500 dialysis patients on a monthly basis.
Despite the hospital's agreement signed with a private non-governmental organisation, it is not providing free medicines to the hospital. There is a serious shortage of funds in the hospital, which is why the administration is unable to make local sales.
All other funds, including zakat funds, have been used in the hospital. The administration has written to Punjab health minister to provide medication for the dialysis centre on an emergency basis.
