Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor’s relationship was one of the most talked about love affairs of Bollywood. However, they left their fans heartbroken after parting ways in 2006, ever since then, Kareena has always stayed mum about her break up with Shahid, until recently.

During an interview with Anupama Chopra, Kareena got candid about working with Shahid in Jab We Met and also about their break up. She said she was offered the film when she was working in Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan starrer Tashan. Thus, she was more focused on her role in the latter, and even got a size zero figure for the film. But Shahid convinced her into becoming the Geet to his Aditya in Jab We Met.

“It was Shahid who actually said that I should listen to the script of the film. He was like, ‘It’s amazing, the girl’s part is amazing and you should do it,’” Kareena stated. Although Shahid and Bebo had called off their relationship by the time Jab We Met released, the film turned out to be a blockbuster hit at the box office.

Discussing their break up, Kareena said that it was 'destiny’s plan' as life took its own course. “A lot happened in the making of this film and Tashan and our lives. We all kind of went our separate ways and this beauty of a film came out of it,” she added.

While both Tashan and Jab We Met turned out to be a game-changer for Kareena, on both a personal and professional front, she stated that it all felt like a ‘game of chess’, ‘karmic-ally connected’. Not only did she and Shahid went separate ways, but she also met the man of her life Saif during Tashan.

The Pataudi couple has been going strong ever since and got married in October 2012. In fact, they are now the proud parents of Taimur Ali Khan. Talking about the work front, Kareena is looking forward to the release of Irrfan starrer Angrezi Medium. Aside from that, she will also be seen in Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Karan Johar directorial Takht.
