Stray dogs

Across the globe, stray dogs are neutered instead of being poisoned. It’s our duty to treat animals with kindness

KARACHI: The number of stray dogs in Karachi is increasing by the day and now it’s becoming a serious problem for the citizens. These dogs wander around houses, near schools, colleges and public parks. Many people have been bitten by stray dogs in the past few days and due to lack of anti-rabies vaccine at public hospitals people have to spend roughly Rs7,200 for anti-rabies injections.

These stray dogs make it difficult for us to move around. In a city of 20 million, we can see stray dogs chasing cars, pull down motorcycle riders, and attack pedestrians and schoolchildren.

The government is required to find a solution to this problem and the authorities concerned should catch these dogs, get them neutered, and send them to animal shelters. Across the globe, stray dogs are neutered instead of being poisoned. It’s our duty to treat animals with love and kindness.
