Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday travelled to Kuwait and held high-level discussions with Kuwait’s political and military leaders on matters of bilateral defence and security cooperation and regional peace and stability.

During the day-long visit, Bajwa met with his Kuwaiti counterpart Lt-Gen Mohammed Khaled Al-Khadher and Defence Minister Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The Kuwaiti leadership lauded the Pakistan Army for its professionalism and determination to combat terrorism.

Both sides agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in various fields of defence and security, including the export of defence products, training, provision of trained manpower and human resources and cooperation in combatting terrorism.

Earlier, upon his arrival the army chief was received by Lt-Gen Al-Khadher, the Chief of General Staff Kuwait Armed Forces and was presented a guard of honour. Under Secretary National Guard Lt-Gen Hashim Abdurazaq Al-Refaea was also present in the meetings.
