This was stated by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai on Wednesday while speaking about the Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) at his residence.
Yousafzai said as many as 32 stations of BRT, including the command and control system, have been handed over to the Trans-Peshawar Transport Company — which will oversee the operation of the mass transit company.
Further, he said that power connections for the stations have been completed, with work on the ticketing booths underway. As many as 50 buses are plying the barricaded, exclusive route for the train from Hayatabad to Chamkani daily as part of rehearsal to ensure smooth working of the project.
Noting that BRT is due to be inaugurated in April this year, the information minister said that work on the ITS installation was underway and is expected to completed by the end of next month.
Responding to criticisms from the former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif, Yousafzai said that the younger Sharif should prove his allegations in court.
