3,300 sacks of sugar seized

More than Rs300,000 fine was imposed on profiteers and hoarders

BAHAWALNAGAR: The district administration has seized 3,300 sacks of sugar during an action against hoarders.

The district administration said that strict action will be taken against the hoarders and profiteers. Officials revealed that the recovered sugar bags were worth more than Rs10 million. Various teams handed over to the district administration the more than three thousand sacks of sugar seized in raids.

Reportedly, on the orders of the deputy commissioner, the assistant commissioner confiscated stocked sugar from Karnali, Minchinabad, Chak Madrasa, Jandwala and Dunga Bunga areas.

More than Rs300,000 fine was imposed on profiteers and hoarders. Further proceedings are underway. Bahawalnagar DC Shoaib Khan Jadoon has instructed the ACs of all tehsils to speed up action against hoarders and merchants involved in black marketing.
