Broken roads

KARACHI: Roads in the Defence View area of Karachi have been in a sorry state, particularly for about a month. The authorities dug up roads for laying pipelines a month back and left the work incomplete. The roads have become nearly impassable. Covers of gutters and manholes are also missing, posing a serious threat to the passers-by. The authorities should not have dug up the roads if the work was not to be completed. If they have done so, they should not have left the rubble uncleared.

In general, the residents of Karachi are facing a lot of issues like poverty, unemployment, inflation and last but not least the derelict infrastructure of the city. I request the authorities concerned to concentrate on finding solutions to these problems.
