NADRA summons 105 ‘suspects’ in K-P

NADRA issued notices after the individuals were flagged by the system

PESHAWAR: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has summoned as many as 105 individuals for verification after Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) were blocked for being ‘suspect’.

A source at the NADRA office in Peshawar told The Express Tribune that the department issued the notices after the individuals were flagged by the system. These individuals, he said, have been directed to present proof of residency and relation by submitting family records otherwise their CNICs would be blocked permanently.

The source said that as many as 75 individuals falling under ‘suspect’ category are from the provincial capital, five are from Bajaur, one from Bannu, nine from Charsadda, one from Haripur, three from Khyber, two from Kohat,  19 from Kurram district and one each from Lower Dir and Lakki Marwat. The number of individuals falling under the ‘suspect’ category in DI Khan is four, Mansehra seven, Mardan 17, Nowshera five, Orakzai one, South Waziristan six, Swat four, and Tank district two, the source added.
