Asghar stressed coordinated measures to prevent coronavirus

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary Captain (retd) Fazeel Asghar on Sunday said all relevant departments, including health department were ready to protect the province from the novel coronavirus.

Speaking during a meeting the chief secretary said isolation rooms will be established instead of wards in the province while complete screening will be ensured at airports and bordering areas.

Secretary Health Balochistan Mudassar Waheed, Director General Health Dr Shakir Baloch, DIG Police Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema and other officials were present on the occasion.

Asghar stressed coordinated measures to prevent coronavirus.

He said equipment was needed for diagnosis and prevention of the virus and urged that it should be made available as soon as possible.

“Additional funds can be provided to the health department if needed to deal with the situation and to be fully prepared to deal with any emergency,” Asghar said.
