The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed four production units of Nimko and discarded 32 maunds of unwholesome food during an operation in Allama Iqbal Town and Dholanwal main bazaar on Sunday.
The operation was led by PFA Director General Irfan Memon. Reportedly, all factories were producing unhygienic nimko and snacks with substandard and prohibited food articles which were injurious to health.
The PFA watchdog team confiscated 900 kg of substandard nimko, 100 kg of chips and 80 kg of vermicelli.
The DG said that the food authority closed down the production units of for wrong labelling, fake packaging and failure to present records.
