Police arrest two truck drivers nominated by victim in statement given on hospital bed

ATTOCK: A 17-year old boy died of injuries suffered during brutal assault and torture by two truck drivers in Attock.

Police have arrested the perpetrators nominated by the victim in a statement given to the police before his death in the hospital, said Attock District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani.

Addressing a press conference at Pindigheb police station, DPO Hamdani said two drivers of an oil tanker allegedly subjected their 17-year-old cleaner to sexual assault and torture after drugging him on February 2, in Toot village in Pindigheb police area.

Later, they threw the victim at a deserted place near Toot village where some passer-by spotted him and informed the police who shifted him to a local hospital. In the hospital, police recorded the statement of the victim.

He told the police that the oil tanker driver and his co-driver first drugged him and then subjected him to sexual assault and torture. The boy was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Rawalpindi where he died of injuries.

DPO Hamdani said a team headed by DSP Malik Tafseer was constituted which arrested the culprits. It is worth noting that the nation tired of sexual assaults on boys and children has been pressing for stronger laws.

If the bill moved in National Assembly the other day is approved, the drivers responsible for sexual assault, torture and subsequently death of the teenager could be hanged till death in public.

Shepherd boy assaulted In another incident, a man was arrested on charge of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old shepherd in village Bhadain in limits of Hasanabdal police station on Friday.

Sajid Mehmood reported to police that his son went to the nearby fields to collect fodder for cattle where a man allegedly took him to a nearby abandoned house and molested him.

The victim was taken to THQ hospital where the medical examination confirmed the assault. Police have registered a case against the nominated the suspect under section 377 and 367-A Pakistan Penal Code and subsequently arrested the accused.
