CM Mahmood said the much-awaited hydropower project will not only address the issue of water shortage in Mohmand district but will also increase the production of electricity. The project will also boost the local economy by promoting agriculture production and creating employment opportunities, he added.
The chief minister said this during a meeting with the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairperson Muzammil Hussain at the Chief Minister House.
The chief minister also underlined the need to ensure the recruitment of local people against the non-technical positions in the Mohmand Dam project. He assured that the provincial government will extend its full support for early completion of other ongoing projects of the WAPDA in the province.
