Swimming: Phelps sticking to Olympics quit plan

SHANGHAI: US great Michael Phelps would stick to his plan to quit Olympic swimming after London 2012 but warned he was coming back into form with just a year to go before his grand send-off. Phelps, who has 14 Olympic titles including a record-breaking eight-gold haul in 2008, said he has ‘hopefully one more’ Games left. He had previously said he would retire at 30. Phelps, who also has 16 world titles to his name, arrives in Shanghai with something to prove after some poor performances including three defeats in the 200m butterfly, two to China’s Wu Peng, ending a nine-year winning streak.
