PRCS to establish isolation wards

ISLAMABAD: As the country gears up to tackle any outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has decided to facilitate the health authorities by setting up isolation wards in public hospitals across the country while training its staff and volunteers to guard against the virus.

The PRCS executive committee, headed by the Abrarul Haq, reviewed several ongoing projects and details of an awareness campaign against the virus in the meeting. The committee urged all provincial governments to identify healthcare facilities in their respective provinces where isolation wards can be set up.

PRCS reviewed the difficulties arising in the execution of the V2R project underway in the four districts of Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) and vowed to complete them promptly.

The committee also decided to spend a $0.2 million grant released by China Red Cross Society (CRCS) on the ‘Zarae Maash’ (agricultural income) programme for flood affectees in Balochistan.
