Seven members of a family killed as unexploded bomb goes off in Bajaur
House was reduced to rubble due to the explosion, say officials
PESHAWAR:
An unexploded bomb went off at a home in a remote area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa leaving seven members of a family dead on Sunday.
The unfortunate incident took place in Tehsil Salarzai of Bajaur tribal district killing four children, two women and a man, officials said.
The house was reduced to rubble due to the explosion, they added.
Earlier reports suggested that a shell was fired from across the border.
Bajaur, which shares a border with Afghanistan’s Kunar province, was one of the agencies of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) before its merger with K-P through a constitutional amendment in 2018.
The tribal district in the past had faced a wave of terrorism but the successful military operations have significantly lowered terror related incidents.
