KARACHI:
Karachi Commissioner Mohammad Hussain Syed said on Thursday that the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) will resume its field operations from Friday.

KESC had suspended its field operations on Wednesday following security threats to its staff and installations. The decision to resume its business operations was taken in a meeting at the Governor's House in Karachi.

Commissioner Karachi, KESC's administration including CEO Tabish Gohar met Governor Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad to discuss the stand-off between the KESC's administration and sacked union employees.

Tabish Gohar informed the Governor about KESC's reservations on the security of its installations to which the Governor assured the administration that union workers will not disrupt KESC's field operations -- and security will be provided to KESC installations and its staff members.
