Health: Anti-Polio drive comes to an end

A three-day Polio Eradication Campaign throughout Hyderabad and Larkana finished on Wednesday night.

HYDERABAD: A three-day Polio Eradication Campaign throughout Hyderabad and Larkana finished on Wednesday night. A total of 1,537,527 children under the age of five were vaccinated against polio in the Hyderabad, Dadu, Thatta, Jamshoro and Badin districts, while a total of 275,819 children were vaccinated in the Larkana, Dokri, Ratodero, and Bakrani districts. According to a health services spokesman, 3,806 mobile vaccination teams participated. Anti-polio drops were administered at 469 stationary centres and 308 routes in and out of Hyderabad. In the Larkana divisions there were 39 stationary vaccination centres and eight transit points. The mobile teams also visited flood affected areas throughout the districts and administered drops to flood survivors.
