Disaster risk reduction manual for children

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Thursday launched an “Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction Play and Art-based Resource Manual for Children”.

The manual consists of different thematic games to engage children from six to twelve years of age on disaster risk reduction. The manual initially will cover four major types of disasters such as earthquakes, floods, typhoons and fire –  which are frequent in the province.

PDMA Director General Parwaiz Khan appreciated Handicap International for extending their technical and financial support to develop the manual. He said that PDMA will engage the education department to include the manual in the syllabus.Parwaiz said that they will extend their training for the manuals across the province.
