Police book man for ‘attempting to rape’ girl

KARACHI: A man, A*, was beaten by area locals in Muzaffarabad Colony, Landhi on Tuesday for allegedly attempting to rape a 3-year-old girl.

Reportedly, the residents of the area beat him up and chopped off his hair before handing him over to the police. They have demanded of the police to subject A to strict punishment.

Quaidabad Police have registered a case against A under sections 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or shorter terms) and 376 (punishment for rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code. According to Quaidabad Police Station SHO Amin Khoso, the girl was playing outside her house when A allegedly attempted to rape her.
