Here's why Miley Cyrus was left out of the Grammys list of invites

Getting left out didn't stop Miley from living her best life

Miley Cyrus has shown time and again that she's not one for conformity. It seems like the star is adamant at sticking to that narrative.

The Malibu singer was noticeably absent at Sunday night's star studded Grammys event - her father Billy Ray Cyrus was nominated and scheduled to perform - and seems to have spilled the reason for skipping out, reported E! News

Well after the show wrapped up and celebrations waned, Miley decided to throw it back to the 2013 MTV EMA's, posting a short clip of her lighting up a smoke on stage.

Cheekily captioning the post, "& we wonder why I'm not invited to award shows anymore," Miley made the reason of her absence obvious - she wasn't invited.

Many of her industry friends rallied to cheer her on, lauding her for 'being herself'. Designer Alexander Wang wrote, "Don't ever change," while the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna chimed in saying, "I'd have you at mine if I had one." Vanessa Hudgens also left a comment for her Disney colleague saying, "What a baller."

Getting left out didn't stop Miley from living the best life celebrating her dad's win with Lil Nas X for Old Town Road. She posted a picture from am after-party, posing with the two saying, "Congrats to my dad and my baby brother on their two Grammy awards!"

Well, there you have it. The Recording Academy really went there and snubbed Miley like that.
